  Once upon at time...at leasts that how all the other stories always start, isn't that true? Well my story didn't exacly start happy...My name is Rin, just Rin..Theres nothing more no signifigant last name to add to it, just Rin. I am about six years old, and even for my ages very short. I have long dark brown hair which I got from my mother. She isn't alive anymore, no one from my family is. I died in the middle of Autum when the leaves are still orange, and in the most beautiful colors. It was dark when they came you could hear their growling and the tearing of flesh as they sunk there claws into another one of the villagers. My mom pushed me out of the back door "Run Rin, RUN!" With that I began to run I looked back one more time at my mom, and kept going. I heard there heavy footsteps behind me...and couldn't help but to hear the voice, and see the demon I had met a few days before. With that final thought I fell to the ground closed my eyes, and counted down the seconds...before they ripped me apart...I felt there sharp teeth dig into my shoulder, and as my blood was absorbed by the earth my eyes closed and I exhaled one last time...

I coughed and opened my eyes, my whole body aching...My eyes ajusted to the last rays of sunlight which shone brilliantly orange, and looked up into the eyes of my savior...and gasped. Above me holding me in his arms like a infant was the demon I had met days before, his beautiful golden eyes the color of the sun when it set...looking down at me, he wasn't smiling, but for a second I though I saw something flicker in his eyes. Just as soon as I saw it, it vanished. He put me down softly and after a while I gathered enough strength to stand straight. I didn't say anything...but simply stared...

He began to walk and I grew paniced, would he really leave me? For a moment he stopped "Do what you want." he said his voice in its usual cold manner, and kept walking. Of course I followed him, I didn't have anywhere to go after all...I followed, a few strides behind his tall and muscular statue. His long silver hair moving from side to side which each step, his sword moving with him. Was he really as dangerous as everyone said?

My mother had told me about demons she's taught me to be careful around them...but he wouldn't hurt me, would he? I looked up at him wide eyed and the little toad demon beside him let out a gasp. "It is very improper to stare at the great Lord Sesshomaru." Sesshomaru looked over his shoulder at me and I stood still, waiting on him to do something, but he just stared. After a few seconds he turned to the toad "Shut up Jaken" with that he turned his head forward, and we continued walking. I had no earthly idea where going, but I didn't care either, this mysterious demon and his what seemed to be his servant, were the only people in the world I had...
Sure, we weren't friends...but I'm sure we would be. My stomach growled and I held it, "Stupid stomach" I said quietly and the little toad, I mean Jaken turned around. "Stupid girl you've cause enough problems, now your hungry too? Lord Sesshomaru why don't we just eat her?" I moved away scared that Lord Sesshomaru would oblige, but instead Lord Sesshomaru turned around again. Like before he stared at me for a while "Jaken go get the child something to eat."

"Yes Master" Jaken replied annoyed and began to walk off, leaving me and Lord Sesshomaru alone. Sesshomaru sighed and sat against a tree closing his eyes. I stood there scared to move, faster then I thought possible he opened his eyes. He stared at me for a while but didn't say anything "Stupid Human" he mumbled and closed his eyes again. Makng sure not to wake him from his slumber I sat down, and looked at the stars above me, they all seemed to glow brighter tonight, could it be that my mom was somewhere up there?
I ripped of a few pieces of grass, and threw them up in the air. Lord Sesshomarus eyes were closed, the breeze making his hair fly around him. The moon was no match for his silver hair, practically iluminating in the darkness. "What are you starring at?" he asked and i could feel my face grow hot. "Nothing..." I mumbled.the silcence was practically suffacating me...but I didn't speak, I was afraid...Afraid that he would grow tired of my talking and drop me off somewhere, or that he would kill me. My mother had told me that some demons even ate humans...I wasn't to sure about him though my mom had called him a youkai demon, he had passed by our village only ones. He hadn't destroyed or killed anyone like the other demons, so maybe he wasn't so bad after all. The little toad demon that always walked beside him seemed commited enough, maybe he was a good Lord...

Jaken arrived with meat in his hands, I couldn't reconize what it had been...but somehow I didn't want to know either. He put it on the ground "There is your food stupid human." I poked at the food, afraid that it would move. It was raw, and suddenly I had the urge to throw up. "Emmm aren't you going to cook it?" I asked, and Jaken sighed. "Now you want me to cook too?" Sesshomaru stood up "Jaken do what the girl tells you, I'm going to keep watch." With that he walked off leaving me alone with the toad. A few minutes later Jaken was trying to get a fire going, and after about ten minutes later he succeded. He put what ever it was...or what ever it had been on a stick and held it over the fire. It was quite large so I was suprised his tiny statue could hold it. About thirty minutes later it was done, and I was on the edge of starving.
I hogged down what ever it was and licked my fingers, Jaken stared at me blinking a few times. "For being such a tiny girl you sure have a appetite." I wasn't sure wether that was a complement or not...so I shrugged it off. My eyes grew heavy and I yawned loudly "I'm gonna go to sleep now" I whispered and laid down on the ground closing my eyes, before I knew it I had drifted off to sleep...


     The first thing that woke me was the chirpping of the birds, and as I opened my eyes the sunlight blinded me, my back was stiff...I wasn't used to sleeping on the ground like this, but what could you do? I sat up after a few minutes and stretched, something was nuzzeling my face. I turned over and a two heads faced me four curious eyes starring at me, without blicking. Technically I could have screamed, but the dragon seemed harmless instead I petted one of the two heads, the two eyes that were on it closed in pleasure. A sound almost like purring was heard a few seconds later, I smiled...like I sad harmless. Jaken starred at me "How do you do that? Ah-Un usually bites anybody its near...how come it likes you?" I shrugged and smiled continuing to pet this very unusual creature. It laid down on the ground and I sat against it letting the sunshine warm my cold body, Jaken sighed. "Lord Sesshomaru didn't return even though he said he was only keeping watch." "Did something happen to him?" I asked concerned bolting upright. Jaken simply laughed "He's the Lord of the Western Lands, I doubt anyone would dare to challenge Lord Sesshomaru...and even if they did, they'd lose. No one could defeat Sesshomaru in this form, and especially not in his youkai form."

     Just as Jaken finished his sentence a loud howling could be heard, and I screamed. Where the wolfs back for me? Jaken grabbed my arm and began to run "Lord Sesshomaru is in battle with Inuyasha." "Who's Inuyasha?" I asked curious, but Jaken sushed me and we kept running. After a while we ended up in the middle of the forest Ah-Un trailing behind us. "You know we could have rode on the dragon." I said pointing at Ah-Un and Jaken hit his hand on his head "Stupid" he mumbled and sat down. "So...what do we do now?" I asked and Jaken sighed. "Nothing for all I care you could be dead by now." I ignored is hurtful comment and began to explore the giant forest. The trees were at least twice as tall as me and I starred at their tree tops completely fascinated. I gasped when a blue and orange bird flew out of one of them looking down at me. Jaken was a meany, always making in front of me...and making is stupid comments. I kept walking looking around me, somehow I had a feeling someone was following me. But everytime I turned around nothing was there, I wasn't going to get discouraged so I kept going. After a while I got to the edge of a cliff. I stared down amazed at the river at the bottom. Flowers bloomed at the edge of it and I got an idea, why not pick flowers for Lord Sesshomaru? I know I was a terrible burden for him, so why not show my gratitude? Even a demon would appreciate such a gift. I looked around trying to find a way to climb down, soon I found it. A vine grew down the side of the cliff, I'm sure I could make it!
  
     I began to climb down the vine, keeping a tight grip. Eventually I got down pretty far, and finally I got to the bottom. I let go of the vine and dusted off my dirty kimino. Now the problem was getting across the river, it didn't look like the current was very strong so I got into the water. I miscalculated because I was drifted off by the river, I tried to scramble to the top but my body wasn't strong enough. The current tossed me around like a rag doll. I reaced for the surface but my fingertips weren't even close to touching it. My mouth opened trying to suck in oxygen, instead water filled my lungs. My eyelids became heavy, lastly I saw Sesshomaru's face and then...nothing...


     I coughed as I felt the air rush into my lungs I turned to my side, and threw up. It was a mix of water, and the food I had eaten the night before. I turned back on my back and blinked my vision was full of bright spots of color. I took deep breaths trying to breath in as much air as possible, I looked up and Sesshomaru's face was only inches from mine. He studied me curiously "Are you...ok?" He asked and moved away, I nodded. I looked around I was laying on the other side of the river and then I spotted the flowers. I crawled forward and pulled a few out of the ground, I crawled back over to Sesshomaru. "There for you, I tried to swim over earlier...but it didn't really work out." I said sheepishly Sesshomaru took the flowers out of my hand and looked at them. I swear there was a smile on his lips, but as soon as I saw it, it was gone again. He stood up "Silly human" he said quietly and walked away, I grinned from ear to ear.
